Previous Pastors of Holy CrossOver the past many years Holy Cross has been blessed with dedicated and professional pastors who were and are committed to teaching and preaching the Word of God. Rev. Edward C. PardieckPastor Pardieck was called in 1952 when Holy Cross was still a mission parish. Pastor Pardieck graduated from the St. Louis Seminary in 1921. He worked for many years in the Missouri area before being called to Holy Cross. He guided Holy Cross through successful outreach programs, established and supervised a Sunday School and successfully completed the first and second phases of the building program. Two Daughter congregations - Christ, Platte Woods and St. Stephen, Liberty - were established under his direction. Pastor Pardieck served Holy Cross for ten years before retiring in October 1963.
Rev. Francis RoschkePastor Roschke served Holy Cross for 24 years (1963 to 1987). He graduated from the St. Louis Seminary in 1947. When Pastor Roschke accepted the call to Holy Cross, it was with the express direction that a Christian Day School be established. The Day School was started in 1963 with a first grade and each year a grade was added. Pastor Roschke saw us through a third building phase which included a sacristy off the altar, remodeling of the altar, the installation of the large gold cross and the new wing to the school in 1978-79. During this time there were a record number of marriages, children being baptized and confirmations. The peak confirmation class was on May 25, 1969, when 48 young people tool their confirmation vows.
Pastor Roschke accepted a call to Trinity Lutheran Church, La Junta, Colorado on October 11, 1987. He has since retired and now lives in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
